The Trinity Baseball Team accomplished many great things during the 2007 season. They were the WPIAL Section 4 Co-Champions along with Thomas Jefferson and West Mifflin. They also accomplished something that has only been done once in the history of Trinity Baseball. They qualified for the PIAA State Baseball tournament and advanced to the Quarter Finals (final 8 teams in the state of Pennsylvania).
Trinity received a first round bye in the WPIAL playoffs and traveled to California University to play the Chartiers Valley Colts in the second round. Trinity defeated the Colts 6-2 to advance to the Semi-Finals.
In the 3rd round of the WPIAL Playoffs, the Hillers had to play #1 ranked West Allegheny who were currently undefeated (12-0). The Hillers fell to the Indians 10-2 at Burkett Sports Complex in Robinson. However, the Hillers did get to advance tothe concelation round for 3rd place to see who would advance to the PIAA State tournament.
In the concelation round, the Hillers had to travel north to Chippewa Park to play the New CastleHurricanes. The Hillers exploded offensively to "10 run" the Hurricanes andadvance to the PIAA State Tournament with a 20-8victory.
In the PIAA State Tournament, the Hillers again traveled north to Slippery Rock University to battle Hickory. The Hillers defeated Hickery 8-6 to become only the second Trinity Baseball team to advance to the Quarter Finals of the PIAA State Playoffs!
The Quarter Final Round found Trinity playing on their home turf of Consol Energy Park against Blackhawk. Blackhawk defeated the Hillers 12-2 to end one of the best seasons in Trinity history!
The 2007 Hiller Baseball Team should be proud of their accomplishments and for raising the bar for future Hiller Diamond Stars.
